US to get bedtime TV show

28/10/2011

There will soon be a new TV show airing in the US that has previously helped parents get their children into their beds. The Belfast based production called Pajanimals encourages children to wind down before going to bed by the use of a variety of techniques. The show, which is sure to be loved by the children, was created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop, and is based around four colourful puppets who tell stories and sing songs.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, the creative director at the Sixteen South production company, Colin Williams, said that the exposure to the show would increase since the TV channel Sprout has a large audience,  and this is very pleasing. The show’s aim is to make kids more comfortable with their bedtime routine and it targets children between the ages of two and five. The director of the Parents Plus charity, Dr John Sharry, told the Irish Times recently that children must be encouraged by their parents to sleep in their own beds to prevent the rest patterns of others being disrupted so anything that eases the bedtime routine is useful.
