Sleep in Heathrow Airport

25/11/2011

Heathrow Airport now has soundproof cabins equipped with a shower, Wi-Fi and a mini bar where passengers can bed down. Provided by No1 Traveller, the airside “bedrooms” are designed to give some peace away from the stress of the airport for Terminal 3 travellers. The rooms are not cheap however as travellers will need to pay £20 an hour for a single and £30 for a twin. Passengers will not be allowed to stay overnight due to current airport restrictions.

The founder of No1 Traveller, Phil Cameron, told the London Evening Standard although Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam is operating the same idea, these are the first such “bedrooms” in the UK. He added that once the company understands how the Heathrow market works, they want to expand at the airport as there is definitely a demand for the rooms. Dubai International Airport has recently become the first airport in the Middle East to provide travellers with “sleep pods”, which include a full size bed and touch screen TV.
