Keep baby's bedroom temperature controlled

29/12/2011

When you bring a new born baby home for the first time, there are so many things you need to think about to keep them safe. Sooner or later they will be sleeping in their own bed in a separate room and this is when parents should be thinking about the best temperature for the bedroom. If the room is too cold or too hot it will prevent the child from falling asleep, make them uncomfortable and cause a number of problems.

The NHS has issued a warning that the chance of sudden infant death syndrome can be increased by an over-heated room. Experts recommend that the bedroom temperature should be controlled at between 16 and 20 degrees C. This allows the child to sleep without risking their health. Another consideration should be the bedding you are using for your child, as this can also affect their temperature during the night.
