The hot and sleepless we are having this month is part of the reason that July has been revealed in a new poll as the month when Brits are at their most miserable.Travelodge have carried out a survey that discovered that nearly 80 percent of people get increasingly agitated at this time of year.Travelodge sleep director Leigh McCarron said: "The lack of sleep makes us irritable, that combined with soaring temperatures in the day make many of us quite tense. "We like the heat - but it takes us time to get used to it."A hot environment also makes for uncomfortable travelling conditions for a lot of people, with 27 per cent of those surveyed admitting they might shout at a child or partner when on the go.In addition, according to recent research from Missouri State University's Center for Biomedical & Life Sciences, not enough sleep can either set off migraines, or make existing problems worse.
