Cutting down on eating before going to bed could be a way of keeping the pounds off, according to commentators.The DC Ladies blog reports having a light meal long enough before bed means it has the chance to digest as you relax through the evening.Rebecca Scritchfield indicated in a post that going for the heavy meal at lunchtime and swapping something like a light salad to the evening could do the trick."Swap your salad at lunch for a tuna wrap (choose either light mayo or cheese not both) and have an entree salad at dinner," she writes.A report from scientists at Northwestern University suggested eating at awkward times, such as just before bed, can lead to weight difficulties.It appeared in the journal Obesity and was the first to establish a casual connection between the timing of meals and the chances of putting weight on.It pointed to the idea that the body's circadian rhythm - or internal clock - could have an important role in metabolism.
