During pregnancy exercise may help sleep

05/01/2012

If you are expecting a baby and are having problems sleeping, a solution to this could be doing some light exercise. Louise Whyte, founder of Penelope Fitstar and a personal trainer who specialises in pre and post natal exercise suggested that the body is allowed to wind down with mild physical exertion. She also recommended that you should take plenty of rest even though you are having problems sleeping, and to get plenty of fresh air.

Another piece of advice is to get some specially shaped cushions to help improve your position and comfort. When your baby is born, the temperature of their bedroom is one of the many things you will have to think about. To prevent a risk to the baby’s health, a temperature of between 16-20°C is recommended by the NHS.
