With the recent heatwave that has swept the nation, many of us have found it difficult to get comfortable at night. In a list compiled by the Sleep Council, there are numerous tips to help you fall asleep. The Council hope the list will aid those suffering from broken sleep during the heat. Many of these tips are nothing more than common-sense, however, the amount of us that neglect these simple points is surprising, considering they really are minor things. Keeping curtains closed during the day, as well as opening a window can help to keep sunlight from warming up the room and circulate fresh air throughout the room, preventing stuffiness. It is an idea to invest in some cotton pyjamas as they soak up sweat effectively without feeling too hot or constrained. Some of the more unorthodox methods include putting a pillow in the fridge a little while before bed, and placing a cup of icy water in front of a fan.
