Large numbers of us find it difficult to nod off at night, leading to the belief that more people than we think are suffering from a variety of different sleep disorders. Those who nod off at various points throughout the day could have a sleep disorder, however, this can only be determined by a medical professional. Alternately, those who take longer than 30 minutes to fall asleep at night could potentially be suffering from a sleep disorder as well. Some experts believe that any interrupted sleep, for example, waking up several times throughout the night, could be indicative of a sleep disorder. Additionally, those who do not wake up feeling refreshed and energised could also be suffering from a sleep disorder. Snoring while sleeping is one of the most common indicators of a sleep disorder. In the most serious cases this can indicate sleep apnoea. Any persistent sleep problems should be addressed by a doctor.
