Bedtime yoga can help children sleep

21/04/2011

It is difficult to get children to settle down and get in the right frame of mind to get ready and go to bed. However, a new craze which is currently sweeping the US may be the answer to many parents' prayers.

Bedtime yoga, which has already seen huge results in America, has made its way to the UK and promises to do the same for children here too. Yoga helps to de-stress and relax the body and mind, making it much easier for children to stop being hyperactive and to make the whole bedtime routine much easier.

Excited by most things around them, kids are extremely difficult to put to bed if they are not in the right mental state. Yoga induces calming effects, and focuses the mind, eliminating any feelings of being overwhelmed by events of the day.

A report in the Daily Express has shown that bedtime is the most stressful time of day for parents, with many struggling for several hours to get their child settled. Some of these yoga classes are centred around improving sleep for children, which means they are well worth finding out about as they could completely transform the arduous bedtime routine.
