A great many people lie in their beds at night unable to sleep without realising that they are suffering from insomnia. To determine whether or not they have the condition, they should look for some tell-tale signs. Being unable to fall asleep is the first sign of insomnia. A person may go to bed and spend a good deal of time tossing and turning and find themselves unable to switch off.
