Babies go to bed more easily when formula fed

19/01/2012

Experts claim that feeding  a baby on formula makes it easier when it comes to bedtime. According to  specialists from the Medical Research Council, children who are breast fed require more attention, are generally more demanding and cry more often than formula fed babies. They explained that this is more natural behaviour and advised parents not to automatically reach for the bottle but learn to understand their baby’s needs.

The lead author from the study, Dr Ken Ong said that if mothers were having a problem with their babies, they should be encouraged to seek help. He added that breast feeding was considered the most healthy way of giving babies nutrition and that this was backed by the group’s research. The research team believe that the research provides an explanation to why so many mothers stop breastfeeding their babies.
