People suffering from mild insomnia have been recommended to drink some unsweetened cherry juice before going to bed.The discovery came after a month-long study by a combined team of scientists from the University of Pennsylvania, University of Rochester in New York and VA Center of Canandaigua.A glass of sharp cherry juice was given to fifteen adults, once every morning and every evening for a fortnight.Following this, they spent another fortnight drinking a different, non-cherry, juice drink. The results of the study showed that the cherry drinkers generally slept for an average of 17 minutes longer each night, and the scientists drew the conclusion that sleeping supplements could be dispensed with in favour of cherries.Budget hotel chain Travelodge have recently discovered that around 75 percent of people in Britain have work-related stresses that prevent them getting a good night's sleep.
