A new study has shown that due to a growth in environmentally conscious consumers, availability of sustainable bed and mattresss options on the market has increased. According to weekly columnist for Treehugger.com, Pablo Paster a number of consumers now want to feel that they are not compromising their environmental principles when buying beds and bedding. This has led to an expansion in the number of companies selling mattresses made from organic products. The trend has also extended to companies producing foam mattresses as many are now offering the option of natural latex foam . Natural latex is a biodegradable product from the rubber tree, unlike urethane. Paster went on to say "If you do get a memory foam mattress or have one already please remember not to let small children sleep in it. The contour-fitting properties of these mattresses can make it difficult for them to turn over." People may want to try a memory foam topper before spending the money on a memory foam mattress though, as the full mattress comes with a luxury price tag.
