An American firm has produced a mattress so expensive it could give the owner nightmares.ES Kluft's Sublime mattress is the most expensive ever produced in the country and will cost $44,000 (30,000).Made to order, the mattress will feature cashmere, silk, exotic wools, horsehair and organic cotton."A growing number of affluent customers would prefer to buy sleep products in America made by American craftsmen," said Earl Kluft, chief executive of ES Kluft."As the luxury market begins to come back, an increasing number of consumers are willing to pay more for a better sleep experience."The firm makes only hand-made mattresses, with the hand stitching on a product taking some eight hours to complete.
