Workers from the East Midlands gave up their mattresses to show support for those who sleep rough.According to the Loughborough Echo, five local people who are employed at ESiT, a database software firm, managed to raise 3,200 as part of an event called the Big Sleep Out.Louise Darby, who is fundraising manager with Framework, the firm who allowed the use of a car park for the event, said it had gone without a hitch.She said: "We are so grateful to the individuals, groups and corporate teams who gave up their warm bed to spend a night with us."The event and passion of those who joined us surpassed our expectations in every way, and now we look forward to firmly establishing it in the local calendar."Other Big Sleep Out events have been held in other places in recent months, including Winchester, Warrington and Sheffield.
