Older women could be getting a higher amount of sleep than men even though they complain about getting less, research has suggested.A study by the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam found that while older females may need more bed rest, they claim to be getting a poor night's sleep even though some of them are getting more than men.The study, published in the journal Sleep, involved 956 people aged 59 to 79, with a slightly higher number of men than women.Females said they had 13.2 minutes less shut-eye than men on average, but were actually getting 16 more minutes of bed rest which was also of a higher quality. One man struggling with sleep lately is Owais Shah, the England cricketer who said in the Sun he ended up restless after his tackle in a warm-up football game on teamate Joe Denly put the opening batsman in hospital.
