Research has discovered people who get better sleep in bed at night produce better work and sporting performances.Experts at Stanford University in the US asked seven members of an American football team to sleep for a minimum of ten hours per night, The Reporter said.After seven or eight weeks, their sprint times increased.Another piece of research discovered workers beginning work in the evening are less likely to enjoy a good night's kip.A third study revealed higher mortality rates for people who get up more than twice per night, indicating sleep may have big health implications.The Sleep Council advises switching an uncomfortable old bed for a newer one if some discover they are not getting the right rest, possibly getting around 42 minutes extra rest as a result.
