Sleep and bed specialist Warren Evans has stated that a mattress is one of the most significant purchases that consumers will make for their home. Evans counsels people to invest in a good quality, sustainable mattress rather than opting for a budget version. Evans went on to offer guidelines on how to maximise a bedroom space. One of the recommendations was to use matching furniture, which helps to give a suggestion of space. "To create a coherent room design, I would advise that the style and decor of the furniture all complement each other - otherwise it can create a busy and cluttered look, minimising the space that you have," Evans explained. He continued: "This year we're seeing a resurgence in using natural, environmentally-friendly materials in the bedroom." These comments are in line with a blog post from 4Homes which stated that folk style, big blooms and natural materials would be hot trends for 2010.
