Certain foods may be better than others when it comes to finding something which helps insomniacs get to sleep, according to one commentator.Lauren Salkeld wrote in Epicurious, saying many people don't think about what they eat before getting into bed as having an effect on sleep.She said sugar is one of the biggest offenders, with many adults wrongly thinking this is a phenomenon which only affects children.She also suggested staying away from spicy foods like curry and also pointed to the likes of meat to get vitamin B to help rest.Mayo Clinic has said people should not go to bed while hungry as this can keep people awake, although a large meal high in fat could be even worse for getting a good night's rest.
