A freelance interior designer has pointed out that homeowners have more choice than ever before when it comes to bedroom décor. Catherine Gasquet said that, whether people were touching up and existing bedroom design or going for a complete redecoration, a good place to start is by looking through design magazines. Often the looks can be recreated at a fraction of the prices listed in the magazine. Ms. Gasquet also said that design magazines helped inspire initial ideas: "It's always interesting to look around. On the other side, people are lost, and it's very difficult for people to make a final decision, as sometimes they can be scared." Her top tip was to choose good curtains, because a well chosen colour would help co-ordinate the rest of the room, including the double bed and assorted bedroom furniture. Meanwhile, another design expert, Sarah Richardson, recently told the Globe and Mail that neutral colours could often be more striking than bright colours when it came to bedroom décor.
