One family has come up with a novel way of sharing a mattress - cutting it in half with an electrical saw.The Morning Call newspaper reported Sheldon Jaffie came up with the method to give half of the mattress to his wife's daughter.Thankfully the mattress was made of memory foam, meaning the gesture was not as tricky as it might have been.Mr Jaffie told the paper: "I took my Craftsman reciprocal saw and I cut the mattress in half, making two singles.''I just cut it right in half. My wife's daughter got one half and we got the other half. We'll put it in our basement like a sofa bed.''Memory foam has recently been used to create flexible batteries which will fit into slots sized from AAA and D.
