26/05/2010

Sufferers of night-time condition sleep apnoea could find their problems ease with some simple throat exercises, a report has claimed.

The New York Times said some people could end up spending cash on complicated machines to treat the condition, but that this may not be necessary.

A report from the paper looked at research in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, showing people who tried the exercises made better progress than those who went for breathing therapy.

"After three months, subjects who did the throat exercises snored less, slept better and reduced the severity of their condition by 39 per cent," it said.
