An interior design specialist has said putting plenty of effort into using innovative techniques to transform a bedroom can help bring a less disturbed sleeping experience.Marni Jameson, a syndicated columnist talking to the Arizona Daily Star, said people may want to start with settling colours, as bold tones can be overbearing.Tranquillity can be achieved through soothing colours, while warm colours can mean the room feels more lively.Other advice included paying attention to light, function and simplicity, as the room needs to be effective and designed so its owner feels comfortable with it.Fabrics and linen can also be comforting and washable and durable. A high thread count is recommended.Recently Shirley Nichol and Nancy Reinke in an article in the Kane County Chronicle said interior designers believe lighting is what the most important things in the bedroom, saying it is "one of the most overlooked areas in the average home".
