Britons could be ending up on their sofa beds rather than their traditional mattresses more often, according to reports.A Cambridge Weight Plan study suggests many people are getting busier in the evenings and don't hit the sack properly until around 11.40pm.About ten per cent also confess to still being awake at 1am, way above the average of 10.47pm which came out of a study done three years ago.The weight loss organisation's medical director, professor Anthony Leeds, said: "Your body needs rest so the lack of sleep could be affecting people's performance at work, their personality and outlook on life."Everyone is so manic these days that once we have fallen through the front door after work, had dinner, sorted out the kids, and finished watching TV it's so late."Another report from the Vitality Show said only one fifth of British people have been getting the recommended eight hours of sleep per night throughout the last five years.
