An expert has suggested that when it comes to decorating the area around their beds many people are choosing contrasting shades. Colour expert Louise Smith was speaking at Grand Designs Live at the Birmingham NEC, when she said that the best colours for bed rooms tend to be elegant, refined and smooth. She added that the palette should be understated and this makes it easy to live with. Materials used were a combination of porcelain with cork or copper with concrete. Ms Smith went on to say that cool, soft colours and warmer hues could be used together to give the home a warmer feeling. The expert added that there is a shift back to a minimalist trend, but not in a clinical way. Barbara Heilmann, a certified interior designer, told northjersey.com recently that more people were choosing muted tones for their homes as they look to change the mood and tone of their property.
