Bed bugs have proved themselves partial to more than people and mattresses after running riot at a library in Colorado, US.A local resident brought a number of rare books into Denver Public Library with the creatures attached.The library has said the resident and book lover knew about the bugs, which soon overran the building.Professionals had to be called in to fumigate the premises and 31 rare books had to be destroyed because of the incident, which ran up costs of $12,000 (7,000).According to reports the man has denied his role in the problem and has been banned from the library and fined the costs run up by the infestation.Earlier this week the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan had to shut up shop because of its own bed bug infestation, cancelling and postponing classes in the process.
