Q: I purchased a Rest Assured divan bed with four draws approx. 10 years ago. The mattress is a Royal Crown Ortho Pocket 1200 (Dijon). Please advise what replacement mattress you would recommend. Question from Tim Forrester
We thank you for your recent email in which you ask about the Royal Crown Ortho bed. This model is discontinued and unfortunately does not have an equivalent in today’s range. We have changed many aspects of bed manufacture in this time and no longer produce this specification.
The mattress is the heart of your bed and the part of the purchase you should spend most time and money on. The secret of having a good night’s sleep is the mattress and bed base you choose. Always remember that a ‘bed’ is a mattress and a base working together, you should not consider them in isolation and should ideally always try them together. We always recommend you buy them together because the two are designed and manufactured to compliment one another in terms of support. Your mattress may show visible signs of wear and tear but the base will have had equal pressure and strain – it just doesn’t show quite so clearly.
We would suggest that you visit your nearest retailer and try either the Marie or Timara, both these mattresses have been designed for a firmer feel like the Royal Crown Ortho.
