- I have recently laid on one of your beds that was labelled up as "Rest Assured 1000 Pocket Spring Memory-Orchid". This was advertised as FIRM and was on a solid divan base. I have noticed that this bed isn't advertised on your website and so wondered if it is a discontinued line? Was this a firm mattress? If so what model has replaced it and is it in the same category ie firm? I have a good condition sprung Divan Base and would like to use this mattress on top but would it affect its "firmness"?

The Orchid has recently been discontinued. Comfort is very subjective. A mattress will feel firmer if it is placed on a platform top base instead of a sprung edge base. Memory foam also feels firmer than latex and some other comfort layers.
If the mattress feels firm to you on a solid base then when you put it on your sprung base we think it will give the mattress a medium-firm feel.
