I am looking to buy a mattress for my 2.5 year old daughter. Can you please advise on which type of mattress is considered best for young children. Which filling is best for them - natural/latex/memory foam? Also, should their matresses have a firm or medium tension? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

One of the most important ways of caring for your child is to give them a good quality bed to sleep on.  Their precious little bodies do most of their growing at night (as much as 1.5cm a night as toddlers).  So, the right support is essential to protect them as they grow and help ensure against the back pains that two thirds of adults suffer from.

Let your child test out different mattresses to find one that feels comfortable.  As they lie on the bed make sure that the mattress is firm enough to take your child's weight.  The mattress should not be so soft that it dips significantly.

Memory foam works with natural body heat, it moulds to the curves of the body to relieve uncomfortable pressure points.

Our natural latex gives cushioned support and great pressure relief but, unlike memory foam, it doesn't need body heat to be activated.  It's also naturally hypoallergenic and ideal for allergy sufferers.  As latex is the most durable and resilient sleep surface available, your mattress will always retain its bounce.

Our materials are treated to conform with fire retardant regulations but the chemicals used are safe to European Standards and are not harmful to children's health or the environment.

Anti bacterial treatment in our ticking actually starves / kills dust mites that help reduce / eliminate allergies.

We would also recommend the use of a waterproof mattress protector in case of accidents.
