I am about to buy one of your mattresses. I have a sprung slat base with slats only 6cm wide and I have seen your recommendations, so for more support I will put extra flat slats inbetween which will level only so slightly lower. My questions is, will a 'no turn' mattress have the longevity of a double sided mattress, if both are cared for equally?

I have recently purchased one of your Royston 1200 latex matresses, but unfortunately I am sleeping very hot on this and so not getting a good nights sleep at all. I had read that latex is supposed to be less hot than memory foam which is why I went for this option. Can you offer any advice about how I might reduce this problem? I am considering turning the matress over so I am sleeping on the bottom of the mattress rather than the latex topper. Is this a good idea? Or not? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,
I am seeking help. I have just purchased a sleepeeze cool comfort 1400…pocket springs…plus memory foam. No doubt it is a splendid mattress, but for me it is a disaster. The problem is the memory foam, it makes me sweat profusely, and I now sleep in the spare room to ensure a decent sleep.
I am a 73 year old male weighing ten stone, am fit and well, and sleep in a double bed on my own. I am a side sleeper, never on my back, and change sides from time to time. I have used a pocket sprung mattress for decades, and slept wonderfully. It is now showing its age, hence the reason for the change.
I am looking for a double pocket sprung mattress, probably natural fibres, to go on a double divan base. From reading your advice, the fact that I am a side sleeper, suggests the choice of a mattress with a degree of give.
You know your products, please select from your range the ones that you think will be suitable for me, and I shall view these in the stores which handle them. I have no wish to waste another £ 400, so I will be more cautious in my choice this time.
Many thanks for your help.

Hello

Also, my partner and I are really easily disturbed when the other moves in bed, how effective is the system to stop such movements being felt? I am also considering a 6' bed with a central zip so we can separate the bed if necessary, do you not do any zipped ones?
Thanks,

Hi
We have been living in a rented property for 5 years. When we moved into the property, the bed wasn't brand new but still in a very good condition. The room has been set up in a certain way and because of the size of the room, doesn't allow you to move the furniture anywhere else. We also have a safety glass window, and the bed is directly in front of the window. The material on the one drawer has started to tear and is hard because of sun damage. We are moving out this weekend and just wanted to find out if you can give me any advice as to what the lifetime of the material under these conditions would be (would it be classed as wear and tear as we couldn't really prevent it??).
Your prompt response would be appreciated!

Dear Rest Assured, we are wanting to replace a king size mattress which sits on a divan base, and as fans of the pocket spring - and Rest Assured, we have been searching various shops and sites in research. The bed is in a family house we have kept on but are unable to visit very often and, therefore, need to be able to warm and air before using each time. For this we like to use an electric blanket and so have been advised to avoid visco-elastic (memory) foam and, by most, latex mattresses. I have regular treatment for back problems and have been advised by my osteopath to go for pocket springs (hurrah!) to give good spine alignment but NOT a firm mattress, as I weigh just on 9 stone and my partner only 10. Your Ortho range feel too firm for me and we have been looking at the Classic range. We thought the 2000 might be a bit too firm also and decided on the 1400, but then on line, found a 1200, 1000 and 800 which we can't of course lie on to try! I have an 8 yr old daughter who has real trouble settling to sleep at night. She recently spent a night on a super soft mattress and had, according to her, 'the best nights sleep of her life'. She was so comfortable being 'enveloped' by the mattress. All I know is that the mattress was a Rest Assured 'soft' mattress but I don't have the specific product name. It was an older mattress anyway (20 years, but little used) and so is probably not in production any more. Please can you advise which of your current mattress products I should consider getting for my daughter? She needs a small single (i.e. 2'6") mattress, soft and enveloping. She weighs about 28kg.

Hi, I'm 6'3 and 350 pounds and I'm a stomach sleeper. My wife is side to stomach sleeper and she's 180 pounds. We have a pure Latex spring air bed. I would say medium to firm. Its been 6 years since we bought it for $2,000. It still looks new and a very minimal Sagging, lumping. However I'm waking up with really bad lower pack pain. I don't have any medical condition but I realize that it is due to my overweight. My Q - Should I replace my mattress or I can add a good quality mattress topper - If I decide to replace my mattress, what is the best mattress for overweight stomach sleeping individuals. Appreciate your help as I always find myself have restless nights and I move to my soft couch where I sleep instantly though it is very soft (surprisingly i wake up with less pain than my mattress). Maybe my mattress is more towards firm than medium firm.

Hi there
I recently asked a question about a mattress. I wanted to know the closest one you have to the Crown 500 you used to stock, my Muym has this one and I really like it. Your response was - "I would recommend that you try a Pocket 1400 or 2000 Classic or Ortho mattress. The Ortho will provide extra firm support whilst the Classic is more medium firm"
Could you let me know which one you mean eg is that the pistaccio? There are quite a few 1400 pocket ones. I am only very small but looking for a firmer feel mattress to the pocket sprung and memory foam one I have at the moment. Ideally I dont want to spend much over £200

Please have you a comprehensive brochure on your mid to top range of divans with the specs of contents as I have allergies and do not wish foam or latex beds. Any suggestions as to which bed has the most natural fibres in and the lesser of chemical etc in them. Spoken to a couple of friends and they too have had bad unacceptable chemical smells for weeks one could not use her Sealy bed for nine weeks it was so bad - is this a fire retardant spray manufacturers use. I have had 4 RA beds since marriage top of the range with the old springs but found pocket springs in hotel beds very comfy. One RA bed returned many, many years ago because of unpleasant odour smell and replaced with one without a "whiff" whatsoever. Sales person advised me 4 weeks ago to buy Relyon bed £1100 but have had to return after a week the smell was appalling from the bed could not hardly go into my bedroom never mind sleep on the bed and it has been returned today to bedding shop with a credit for another bed. How does one get a bed without this odour? I appreciate there will be a newness aroma but not so pungent for a week.

A few months ago, we purchased a Rest Assured York 1200 Classic Pocket Spring Ortho mattress (small double) from Dreams Beds. We also purchased a metal bed with a wooden sprung slatted base. Sadly we have never experienced a good night's sleep with this combination and in retrospect feel we should have purchased a divan instead. I wrote to Dreams but their answer was unsatisfactory.
My question: (1) Is this type of mattress only to be used on a divan and NOT a slatted base (2) Is there any solution for my problem (EG perhaps there is a special "under-blanket" to be placed under the mattress or there are special frames that could be purchased to fit onto the frame). I have checked online but could not find anything suitable.
I want to add, that the mattress if placed directly on the floor, is very comfortable with lots of support and a pleasure to sleep on.

I am an elderly person suffering with severe lower lumber pains and also leg pains. At present I have an adjustable bed and a 7.inch
Memory Foam mattress which is useless and too hard. I am lying in a practically rigid position on this, in spite of the fact that there is over it a good quality Mattress Topper. Have also tried 'Tempur' and several other mattresses (none of which have proved helpful).
I feel I need an EXTREMELY SOFT mattress where it will be possible to 'sink into' and which easily gives way to one's contour. (Perhaps a mattress with a similar feel to a water bed).
If you could please be of any help, I would be most grateful.
I live between Newcastle upon Tyne and Hexham and if you could please provide a suitable stockist which is not too far away as I am partially disabled, I certainly would appreciate it. Thank you. 5.6.2011

Hello, We purchased a Tara 2000 mattress last week, and was very pleased with the way it looked. We wanted a medium firm mattress and the Tara 2000 was described as such. However both my partner and I feel like it is sleeping on a board, it is so firm. We both wake up with back ache and aching hips. Is this mattress supposed to be a "firm or medium firm" have we been sold one with the wrong discription, because we would not have purchased this mattress if we knew it was this firm.

In December 2007 we bought one of your kingsize Miami mattresses which is a 2000 pocket sprung. In fact, we bought it as the 2 year old mattress we already had at the time was too hard for me. The mattress was sold to us as a 'medium' firmness. In your opinion, is this correct? I know it's not an exact science but I can only think that the firmness of this mattress is still too firm as it makes my thighs and shoulders literally go numb and we both get dreadful backache in it, when neither of us actually suffer with backache during the day! It is sometimes agony turning over in the night. Probably after less than a year there were dents in the mattress top surface. We were told it was non-turn, but should we be turning it?? (By the way, we are both of average weight - me, 9 stone and him 13 stone). The mattress is on a slatted wooden bedstead.
Furthermore, can you recommend any other of your up to date mattresses which might be considered a softer firmness rating, but still supportive and designed for a wooden slatted bedstead? We're coming to the end of our tether with it - help.
